Ancestral Tourism
An hourly rate of £50, with the minimum contract of six hours - £300.
* If the work is particularly complex, then further 2 hours blocks may be required at the same rate, up to a maximum of 10 hours - £500. Any further research after this time will be arranged with the client on an hourly basis.
* Travel expenses and any document fees (once cleared by the client) will be added to the final invoice.
* Cost of writing the report (2 hours - £100) will be added to the final invoice.
* Creating a family chart (2 hours - £100), if required.
* A non-refundable deposit of £150 (50%) is required to begin the research.
* Negative results (due to limited document survival) are still liable for the fees above.
Research Using Ancestry, Find My Past, the Genealogist and Family Search as well as newspaper archives and maps. The research would cover the ancestry of the family before emigrating from the United Kingdom.To facilitate this, as much as possible about the family – names, rough dates, places of birth, occupations, etc, will be required.Many families emigrated from the United Kingdom during the 18th and 19th centuries when records were kept by the parish. These are not complete and therefore families are not always found. However, negative results are still subject to the above fees.
